The Adventures of Miss Moo

The Adventures of Miss Moo

I've decided to call my self Miss Moo on this blog :) While this blog is a little like a diary for myself, I would love it if a few people started reading it. When I was away, I loved having everyone read my travel entries so I want to try and formalize this blog, though I'm still learning.

Like I've said before, I have several different creative hobbies but the top three are Photography, Cross-Stitching and Stop-Motion. I am also interested in Publishing and all the facets of that. My other huge interest is Harry Potter, especially this year as I will be spending the year writing a 15,000-18,000 word thesis about the series! Plus, I kinda like food, both making it and enjoying it. So I want this blog, my blog, to be a celebration of these, as well as my daily things :)

I want to try and blog at least once a week so as to practice writing. I was cleaning out my old boxes of memories today and stumbled across so many little tidbits of stories I've started over the years. I wish I could have something come of them!

I hope someone reads this, but even if not - I'll enjoy reading my rambles!

Miss Moo

P.s. Why Miss Moo you may ask? My Dad has always called me Manda Moo or just Moo and now it's caught on in my family and with my boyfriend. So I decided to add the Miss Moo :)

P.p.s.s. I went for a bike ride today with Rachel! Was a lovely way to spend the day, especially when we had to have lollies because I felt faint! Or when we stopped to have a look at the cutest shop! And to top it off we had a macaron and milkshake in Mailing Road :) and we also ran into my grandparents which was a lovely surprise! The picture is us at our lollie stop :)

Mystery

Mystery

This summer, I have taken it upon my self to read as many books as I can. I have what I consider is a good number for me, though it may be less than some. But I have read 8 so far, although technically summer is over now. But of these 8 books, three were the Hunger Games and two were Agatha Christie books.

My biggest surprise with the Agatha Christie books are how accessible they are to read. For some reason, I thought that they would be written in quite a formal style and slightly old fashioned. Now I understand why they are so popular! I'm up to my third now - all have been Poirot books so far. I just wanted to chart my new found love of them. I plan to read all the other ones my Dad has, and after that I shall be off to the library!

Rainy Day

Rainy Day

Rain, rain go away,
Come again another day.

Today is one of those days that you just want to curl up inside and watch a movie. Luckily, I am doing that very thing. So far, we've watched Friends With Benefits, and some Drangon Ball Z (not my choice but I chose the first thing, so it was only fair) and now we are watching 30 Minutes or Less.

I was cross-stitching a card for a friend, but I've run out of thread :(

This is a very short & rambling post!

I'm up to the crazy climax in 30 minutes or Less!

Okay movie is finished!

& now watching Arrested Development Season 1. Okay, this post is pretty useless!

Had a lot of fun at two 21sts last night :)

Okay better pay attention :P

Everything Girl

Everything Girl

I love many different things and which is why sometimes I struggle to give myself one identity on the Internet because I like too many things. This is why I called my blog The Little Cosy Corner, because it's where I'd like to curl up and be creative about many things.

One of my current creative outlets is Cross-Stitching. I love seeing little patterns come to life. One of my most ambitious works so far was a Babushka doll I made for Emily's 21st as we are both obsessed with them. I chose the colours especially for her :) I found the pattern on Cross Me Not - it is my favourite site for patterns because she makes really cute and simple ones that can be achieved in a short time. They are also free and I love how she includes her recommendations for threads. We (Emma, my sister, & I) used a lot of her patterns for making Christmas cards this year.

So here is my Babushka doll :) Took two weeks and I could not have been prouder when I gave it to Emily during my speech to her at her 21st!

Wingardium Leviosa

Wingardium Leviosa

Two weeks ago, I think it was now, I went to Sydney with one of my best friends and my sister. The entire purpose of this trip was this car. Well not exactly. But kinda. We went to see the Harry Potter Exhibition!
We couldn't take any photos inside this exhibition so I snagged this from Google - and even though it is a drawing - it is a fair look at the space. It was an awesome experience and very much worth flying up to Sydney for. We got a photo taken in the Great Hall, which is pretty :) Courtney and I bought wands - I got Hermione's -
I'm not an home so I'm just googling images to use - except where I mention they are my photos (like the first one!)
Because Hermione is my all time favourite character! I love everything she stands for and how she is written. She is the perfect heroine and all other author's of females in a fantasy narrative should take note of how JKR has depicted her - cough*Stephanie Meyer*cough*Suzanne Collins*cough. /rant

Courtney bought Luna's wand which was beautiful if I do say. It looked like it had a tulip on the end.

One day, I will buy -

Hint hint to anyone :P haha

But anyway, the actual exhibition was really great in that you were allowed to get really close to the costumes and props. I loved that not everything was behind glass and you were allowed to lean in really close to examine everything. We were even allowed to get up and close and personal with the mandrakes. I don't want to spoil it for everyone but I would recommend it if it came to a city near you, definitely worth the money.

p.s. the Chocolate frogs are so tasty!
